Empower Yourself With Zen and Health

Take Control of Your Future

Maribel Munguia Dugas, LCSW, CMHIMP

Founder

As a licensed clinician since 2008 I have gathered many different experiences.  I have worked in mental health settings with men, women and children to improve their coping strategies and their relationships.  I have worked in a hospital setting helping people cope with getting very challenging news about their health and needing to consider life changes.  I have worked in a school setting supporting low income families and students for about 15 years.  In addition, I also taught self defense and fitness for almost 20 years so I am very passionate about improving mental and physical health simultaneously.  I recently got Certified as a Mental Health Integrative Medicine Practitioner in order to support my clients even further.  I am very passionate about helping underserved populations and I provide various types of services to these populations through my Community Health Project.  I believe in having "balance" in your life and that means looking at your psychological, physical, social, and spiritual health.  The urban dictionary defines "Zen" as a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind.  It is a way of being and a state of mind.  It involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts.  I do believe that being present and embracing where you are as a starting point is the perfect way to start to take control of your life.  We can't always control what is happening but we can control how we perceive the situation.  I am here to help you be present and maximize on your potential for growth.

“We all struggle with lives challenges and know where we would like to be, we sometimes just need a road map and a little assistance to get there. My goal is to help people imagine the future they want to create and then develop a series of realistic steps to help them get there. I focus on finding acceptance to problems rather than focusing on the problems themselves in order to move forward to solutions. I can help you identify the skills you need to make changes in your life and reach your goals. I strive to treat a variety of mental health and personality disorders, improve relationship issues, and empower victims of crime.”

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear”
